Bar Carts in New Zealand — Style, Delivery and What to Expect

Royal Bar Carts ships to New Zealand, and the offer is exactly the same as it is in Australia: complimentary tracked delivery on every order, no minimum, no surcharge for being across the Tasman.

This guide covers what a New Zealand customer can expect — how pricing works, how long delivery takes, how returns are handled, and which pieces suit New Zealand homes. It is short on marketing and long on specifics, because those are the things that are genuinely hard to find out before you order.

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars

Our New Zealand storefront prices and charges in NZD. You do not need to convert anything in your head, and you are not billed in one currency after being shown another. Use the currency selector in the top of the page to switch between the Australian and New Zealand markets, and prices update to the market you are shopping in.

Every price you see already includes delivery.

Delivery timeframes, stated properly

We would rather give you a real window than a comfortable one.

  • Dispatch: 3–5 business days from the time you order
  • Transit: 8–15 business days
  • Total: 11–20 business days from purchase to your door

Bar carts are furniture. They travel as freight rather than as a small parcel, and freight to New Zealand moves on a slower schedule than a padded envelope does. Most orders arrive well inside that window, but the window is the honest number and it is the one we publish.

Your tracking details are emailed the moment your order is dispatched.

Returns come back to our Australian distribution centre

You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, and there is no restocking fee.

All returns — New Zealand included — are processed through our Australian distribution centre. Two things follow from that, and it is better to know them before you order than after:

  • If you are returning an item because you changed your mind, the return shipping is your responsibility, and from New Zealand that is an international freight cost. Email us before you send anything back and we will confirm the cost in advance, so there are no surprises deducted from your refund.
  • If the item arrives damaged, defective or is simply the wrong thing, we cover the full cost of getting it back — including from New Zealand. That is not a goodwill gesture, it is how it should work.

Your original delivery cost is refunded in full on any approved return, which is straightforward given delivery was complimentary in the first place.

Which carts suit a New Zealand home

New Zealand interiors tend to share a few things with the Australian homes we know best: a lot of natural light, an indoor space that opens onto an outdoor one, and a preference for materials that look better as they age rather than worse. Three directions in our range answer that particularly well.

Timber and iron, for rooms with warmth

The Fitzroy Wood & Iron Bar Cart pairs solid timber shelves with a blackened iron frame. It is the piece to choose when a room already has timber in it — floors, beams, a dining table — and you want the cart to belong rather than announce itself.

The Windsor Classic Solid Wood Beverage Trolley takes the same idea further, with a more traditional silhouette for a more traditional room.

Nordic restraint, for smaller and lighter rooms

The Elwood Nordic Round Side Cart and The Kirra Nordic Oval Bar Cart both use curved frames and a restrained palette. A round or oval cart has no corners to catch a hip in a narrow room, which matters more in a villa hallway or an apartment than most people expect until they live with one.

Glass and gold, for rooms that want an event

If the cart is meant to be the thing people notice, The Orion Gold Circle Bar Cart and The Savoy Art Deco Beverage Cart are built for exactly that. Tempered glass shelves keep the piece visually light even when the frame is bold.

A note on assembly

Most of our carts arrive flat-packed and require straightforward self-assembly. Instructions and hardware are included. This is deliberate rather than a compromise — a flat-packed cart survives a long freight journey far better than an assembled one, and that matters more on a Tasman crossing than it does on a run between Sydney and Melbourne.

Before you order

Measure the space first. It is the single most common reason a piece of furniture disappoints, and it takes two minutes. Every product page lists the full dimensions in centimetres, including the height with castors fitted — check the height against any shelf or window sill the cart needs to sit under, and check the width against the gap it has to roll through.

If you are unsure which piece suits your room, email us before you order. We would rather spend ten minutes helping you choose the right cart than process a return on the wrong one.

What happens after you place the order

The part most retailers leave vague.

  1. Order confirmation arrives by email immediately.
  2. Dispatch, within 3–5 business days. Your cart is picked, packed and handed to the freight carrier. You receive tracking details at this point, not before — a tracking number issued earlier would simply sit inactive and worry you.
  3. Transit, 8–15 business days. This includes the Tasman crossing and domestic delivery within New Zealand. Furniture freight consolidates, which is part of why delivery is complimentary rather than charged at courier rates.
  4. Delivery. Inspect the carton before you unpack it fully.

That last point is worth taking seriously. If anything looks wrong — a crushed corner, a tear, an obviously rattling box — photograph it before you open it. Freight damage is far easier to resolve with a photograph of the packaging than with a photograph of the contents alone.

For freight deliveries, report any damage within 48 hours. For smaller parcel deliveries you have 15 days. Either way, contact us and we will arrange a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.

Common questions from New Zealand customers

Is delivery really free, or is it built into the price?

Delivery is included in the price you see, the same as it is for Australian customers. There is no separate shipping line added at checkout and no minimum order value. We think a price that changes at the last step is a poor way to treat a customer.

Do you deliver outside the main centres?

Yes. Rural and provincial addresses may sit towards the longer end of the 8–15 business day transit window, which is why the window is stated as a range rather than a single number.

Can I order from the Australian site instead?

You can, but there is no advantage in it. The New Zealand storefront exists so that you see and pay in New Zealand dollars rather than being shown one currency and charged another. Use the currency selector at the top of the page to switch.

What if I need it by a particular date?

Email us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable. We would rather lose a sale than make a delivery promise we cannot control, because the freight leg is genuinely not ours to compress.
